Over time, the body adapts to this pace by staying in a heightened state of alert. We begin to operate on autopilot, often disconnected from the signals our bodies are trying to send us.
The truth is, our bodies were never meant to live in a constant state of urgency.
At Fem & Co, we believe wellness begins with reconnection — learning to listen to the body again and creating space for the nervous system to settle.
Our upcoming retreat in Innsbrook, Missouri is designed to offer exactly that: a gentle pause from everyday life where women can reconnect with themselves through movement, reflection, and meaningful conversation.
Why Nervous System Regulation Matters
The nervous system plays a central role in how we experience our daily lives. When it becomes dysregulated, we may feel constantly overwhelmed, restless, fatigued, or disconnected from our bodies.
Practices like mindful movement, breathwork, meditation, and intentional rest help the body return to a more balanced state. When the nervous system begins to regulate, we often notice:
